How to have a Successful Hypnosis Session?

First, let’s talk more about what is hypnosis. Hypnosis is a natural state of mental and physical relaxation and increased focused attention. Everyone experiences hypnosis daily in a variety of situations. We all drop into deeper states of consciousness all the time when we’re reading, watching TV, listening to music, or walking. Especially when we are driving, there is even a name for it – Highway Hypnosis.

Many practitioners like to say that hypnosis is not anesthesia, meaning that you will not go unconscious. You will still be aware and more likely will remember most of your session. So rest assured you can experience hypnosis without losing control.

And remember, that all hypnosis is self-hypnosis. The client must trust not only their practitioner but themselves to relax and focus enough to enter the state of hypnosis. Nothing can happen without your permission; trust yourself and trust the process. Make sure you feel physically relaxed and comfortable. Allow yourself to surrender and know that your subconscious will bring forward exactly what you need. You will have an amazing session if you can accept and trust whatever comes to you without trying to make sense of it or apply logic.

You need to drop all expectations. For most people, the session is more like a daydream or a memory. But for others, information comes through hearing or feeling, body sensations, or just knowing. Some people only see colors, some are floating in dark. Information can come in many different ways; you need to trust and allow it. Remember that your imagination is the language of your Higher Self! Give yourself permission to just imagine things, to “make it up”.

Daydreaming is when you get lost in your thoughts and drift away from your current reality.

So, if you can daydream, allow your imagination to guide you, trust yourself, trust your practitioner and the method if you can drop all expectations and relax, I can assure you are going to have a successful hypnosis session!
